Where does a five-year-old boy turn to when he can no longer walk? What could he do to stifle the disappointment in “being broken”? At least, for me, the answer was to turn toward storytelling.

Stories are the foundation of human connection. It’s our shared pastime since we gained consciousness. It allows us to dream big and to live in someone else’s shoes.

This is why I do what I do.
