JACOB A. DENTON

Jacob A. Denton is a Creative Director, Producer, and Writer from Houston, Texas.

Upon graduating with a B.F.A in Film & Television from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Jacob has continued to work in the film industry as a freelancer. He is currently based out of Savannah, GA, and Houston, TX.

He has experience in many roles on-set, ranging from Director to Producer to Assistant Director to Assistant Camera to Production Assistant. He can do it all. Most recently, he has been a Production Assistant on Netflix’s May December, Tombras’ Sea Island, Apple Studios’ Manunt, Sony’s Panhandle, and Blumhouse’s Halloween Ends.

As of early 2024, Jacob has five short films that are close to or currently in film festival runs: Ada and the Doc (Producer), Godsend (Producer), The Tempest (Director), Ten Minutes to Showtime (Producer), and Home for None (Director/Producer).

Jacob A. Denton never imagined a film career was possible growing up in Houston. The path was unknown. But he has since found footing and is excited by the broad opportunities and experiences it has given him thus far.

He has always been, and always will be, a storyteller. These quotes succinctly explain why.

“Fiction is the lie that helps us find the truth.” -Tim O’Brien

“I aim to ease loneliness in myself, in my community, and people I may never meet.” -Hello Emerson

Stories are the foundation of human connection. They help us form relationships, experience thousands of lives beyond ours, accept new viewpoints, dream big, escape when we need to, and reflect upon our shared humanity and experiences.

Storytelling is the most human thing we can do.
